Very sad to learn of the passing of Daphne Nunn last night (not Corona related).
She will be very sadly missed within the Cavy Fancy and our thoughts go out to Peter and the family.
Margaret Tenner – Palemoon Stud
We are very sorry to have to advise you all that Margaret passed away peacefully this morning. The cause was a progression of her existing condition and not COVID-related.
Margaret’s contribution to the cavy fancy is legend and extends over many decades. Her Palemoon Whites and Creams were known throughout the world for their quality and their numerous wins at all the top shows were testament to this. She served on the National Cavy Club’s Executive for many years, including as our President.
Most of all, Margaret was the most dedicated of cavy fanciers, and a dear and much loved friend to so many of us who will be sadly missed.
We will pass on any more information as it becomes available. In the meantime, our thoughts are with her family.
We are very sorry to learn that Chris Pearson passed away at the end of March.
Chris had been a member of the National Cavy Club for many years, having started his cavy-keeping in the early 70s as a junior exhibitor. He kept a variety of breeds of cavy over the years but was best known for his Dutch and Tortoise and White, who were able to win at the top level.
Chris will be very much missed by cavy fanciers throughout the country, who always enjoyed the time they spent in his company. Our thoughts are with his family at this time.
It is with great sadness that we inform our members that Shane Ross passed away peacefully this morning.
Shane worked tirelessly for the National Cavy Club for many years, most recently as our Affiliation Secretary, organising the Diploma and Star competitions; she was also a well respected National Cavy Club and breed club judge.
Shane was the hardworking secretary for the Midlands Cavy club and a number of local club shows: Sheffield Cavy Club, Selston and Sherwood Cavy Club, and the cavy sections at Derby County and Moorgreen agricultural shows. In addition, she was a successful exhibitor of cavies, including Rex and Tortoise & White.
She will be sadly missed by all the clubs she worked with and by her many friends in the fancy and we send our heartfelt condolences to her family.
